Medical Wigs...

Cancer
Ideally, patients should
book a consulting appointment
before undergoing treatment. This
allows us to choose the color and style
that is most natural for the client.
There is no obligation to buy after a
consultation. Clients should keep note
of the color, size, and style that suits
them best so that they can feel confident
if they need to make a purchase later.

Because hairloss for cancer patients
is usually short-term and the need is
usually immediate, a synthetic wig is
typically recommended. Explore your options -
the important thing is that you feel comfortable about your purchase and how you look. Remember, this is an area of your treatment that is under your control.

Alopecia
Alopecia Areata is a common cause of hair loss. It usually starts with one or more small round bald patches on the scalp and can progress to total body hair loss. While some people develop only a few bare patches and regrow them within a year, others will have extensive hair loss. For extensive Alopecia Areata or Alopecia Totalis, treatment can be difficult. There is no simple, sure treatment and for this reason a wig is often the best alternative. Because such Alopecia patients will likely be wearing a wig or hairpiece on a daily basis, European human hair is highly recommended. The lifespan of a human hair wigs can be five times that of a synthetic if worn on a daily basis.

There are many ways to make a wig look completely natural; every wig is cut, thinned and styled, often several times, until it is just right.
